Let’s face it, looking for the right job can be overwhelming and sometimes downright miserable. But did you know that our parish has an entire department dedicated to making the job search a painless and positive experience?

The St. Charles Parish Business and Career Solutions Center, also known as, the Workforce Innovations and Opportunity Act (WIOA) offers numerous services; however, these 4 unique resources can make a world of a difference when you are on the job hunt.

1. Career Information Resource Center 
This center isn’t just the hub for all your career resource needs; it also provides internet access, FREE to anyone looking for help while seeking employment. You can also visit the mobile center (pictured above) when you see it at events!

 

2. Access to Local Employment 
Ever waste hours looking for a job only to realize your job search was in Luling, Tx? Well, WIOA gives job seekers the ability to search for job openings posted by local employers (no mix-ups there). In addition, while gaining access to local employment opportunities, WIOA can also supply anyone with current information regarding occupations in high demand. 


3. Resume and Cover Letter Assistance
Found the perfect job, but don’t have the proper documentation to apply? Luckily for you, WIOA offers assistance in resume’ and cover letter writing. Best part is, once your documentation is exactly how you like, copy and fax machines are available to ensure you are prepared for any interviews you may have lined up. 


4. Aptitude and Interests Assessments 
Maybe you aren’t looking for just a job, but for the perfect career. No Fear, WIOA is here and ready to help you determine which career will match your skill set and personality through FREE aptitude and interest assessments. In addition, WIOA can help you asses your academic skills and then enhance them while also offering HI-SET preparation if needed.
