- COMMUNITY INPUT MEETINGS
St. Charles Parish and the Regional Planning Commission are urging residents to attend community input meetings to discuss the pedestrian and bicycle master plan.
The dates set are as follows:
• 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. June 6, Destrehan High School, 1 Wildcat Ln, Destrehan, LA 70047
• 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. June 14, Hahnville High School, 200 Tiger Drive Boutte, LA 70039
The meetings are being held to gather community input to create a strong comprehensive plan that welcomes pedestrians and bicyclists by providing safe accommodation for walking and bicycling and encouraging people to walk and bike for transportation and recreation.

- SPILLWAY ROAD CLOSED
Public Works has closed the Bonnet Carre’ Spillway Road until further notice due to high water.
- HURRICANE SEASON HAS BEGUN
As you all know, we are now in Hurricane Season and our parish emergency department is hard at work preparing by holding our region 3 meeting with responders, our internal tabletop exercise and continuing with public meetings across the districts. All residents should have received a copy of our ‘Be Prepared’ brochure in the mail. If not, the brochure is available at stcharlesparish-la.gov/hurricane. - EMPLOYEE AWARD
Rachelle Johnson, an administrative assistant in the Department of Waterworks recently won the ‘Outstanding Service Award’ for the South Central Region of the Louisiana Conference on Water Supply, Sewage and Industrial Waste. Congratulations Rachelle. We are proud.
