Rabies Vaccinations

Having your pet vaccinated yearly is not only responsible; it is required by St. Charles Parish Animal Control. Rabies vaccinations are offered by appointment at the shelter during normal working hours. Call (985) 783-5010 to schedule an appointment. The cost is $10 paid by cash or credit card; checks are NOT accepted.

Vaccinations are also offered at the St. Charles Humane Society's annual Rabies Run each spring. For more information, check the calendar module located on the main Animal Control page.

Low Cost Services
The St. Charles Humane Society oversees a Spay and Neuter Program (SNIP). The fee for spaying and/or neutering is dramatically reduced based on financial need. The applicant must be currently receiving some type of government assistance or fall within federal poverty guidelines to qualify. Documentation for this assistance must be provided to the shelter. For more information, contact the animal shelter at (985) 783-5010.

Microchipping
The St. Charles Humane Society encourages pet owners to microchip their pet. By microchipping your pet, you have access to 24/7 assistance with advice and support if your pet is lost. Pet owners can come to the St. Charles Parish Animal Shelter for microchipping during normal working hours to have their pet microchipped. The fee is $20 paid by cash or check.
