JULIA FISHER-PERRIER, COUNCILWOMAN DISTRICT VII, is a native of Luling and has resided in District VII for 30 years. She is married to Craig Perrier Jr., a native of Destrehan, and they are the proud parents of one son, Eli.
Julia is a licensed property and casualty insurance agent for Riverlands Insurance Services Inc. in Luling. She is a 1998 graduate of Hahnville High School and attended the University of New Orleans from 2000 until 2004 as a political science / pre-law major.
As councilwoman for District VII, Julia serves her constituents by actively participating in community activities and serving as a liaison to fulfill the needs of the residents in her district.
Julia is the current Chairman of the Hurricane Protection Projects Committee, a member of the Operations, Maintenance, and Construction Management Committee; Legislative Committee; Contract/Finance and Administrative Committee; and Special Projects/Public Safety, Health and Environmental Committee.
Julia is an Ex-Officio member of the Housing Authority, a member of the Paul Maillard Corridor Revitalization Executive Committee, a member of the Sunset Drainage District - Board of Commissioners, a member of the St. Charles Parish Hazard Mitigation Plan Committee, a member of the board for the South Central Planning and Development Commission, Secretary and Treasurer of the United Way of St. Charles, as well as, the Chairman of the United Way of St.Charles Finance Committee.
Julia is a member of the Louisiana Police Jury Association and the National Association of County Officials. She is a member of NACo's Environment, Energy and Land Use Steering Committee for the 2014-2017 term, the current Chairman for the Louisiana Police Jury Association's Wildlife and Fisheries Committee through 2017, and a member of the council for NACo's Next Generation.
